My husband and I both work from home so we jumped at the chance to look at apartments in St Petersburg FL after Dad visited and said he’d feel better if we moved down to St. Pete to be closer to him. His health is starting to slip and it’s difficult for him to do the daily living things like shop for food. After Mom passed away a year ago, it got a lot harder. Dad has money so he offered to pay for a what he called a nice apartment in the city that is near his home.
When he said nice I didn’t know he meant luxury! We thought it would be some dour looking place like the apartment buildings around here in Ohio. Little did we know that St. Petersburg is known as the Sunshine City and they mean it! We went down and stayed over at Dad’s place and then drove over to the apartment building to take a look. These were what I would call high end apartments. They’re huge inside and the windows let in a lot of light. They’re also very modern. The place has a pool and is located close to the waterfront.
My husband and I kept pinching ourselves looking around the place. A parking garage? Located close to a shopping center? Yes to both and they have two rooftop lounges! We just stood inside a unit looking up at the nine foot ceilings and thought we had died and gone to heaven. Dad started talking about looking around and we both answered with a resounding NO! This is perfect. We just can’t believe we’re living in such a nice place in Florida. Our friends seemed pretty jealous when they saw the pictures and warned us about hurricanes. Know what? We don’t care!
